Square Planar Pt(II) Ion as Electron Donor in Pnictogen Bonding Interactions

چکیده

It has been proposed that late transition metals with low coordination numbers (square planar or linear) can act as nucleophiles and participate in ?-hole interactions electron donors. This is due to the existence, this type of metal complexes, a pair electrons located at high energy d-orbitals (dz2 dx2-y2), which are adequate for interacting antibonding ?-orbitals [?*(X–Y)] where Y usually an withdrawing element X p-block. d[M]??*(X–Y) interaction reported groups 9–11 oxidation states +1 +2 (d8 d10) donors ?-holes halogen chalcogen atoms acceptors. To our knowledge, it not described pnictogen atoms. In manuscript, evidence existence bonding involving square Pt(II) donor Sb acceptor provided by using X-ray structure retrieved from Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) theoretical calculations. particular, quantum theory molecules (QTAIM), noncovalent plot (NCIPlot) molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) methods were used. Moreover, further confirm nature Sb···Pt(II) contact, recently developed method was used density (ED) (ESP) distribution compared along bond path.

Halogen bonding, chalcogen bonding, pnictogen bonding, tetrel bonding: origins, current status and discussion.

The role of the closing lecture in a Faraday Discussion is to summarise the contributions made to the Discussion over the course of the meeting and in so doing capture the main themes that have arisen. This article is based upon my Closing Remarks Lecture at the 203rd Faraday Discussion meeting on Halogen Bonding in Supramolecular and Solid State Chemistry, held in Ottawa, Canada, on 10-12th Ju...

Halogen Bonding Involving CO and CS with Carbon as the Electron Donor.

MP2/aug'-cc-pVTZ calculations have been carried out to investigate the halogen-bonded complexes formed when CO and CS act as electron-pair donors through C to ClF, ClNC, ClCl, ClOH, ClCN, ClCCH, and ClNH₂. CO forms only complexes stabilized by traditional halogen bonds, and all ClY molecules form traditional halogen-bonded complexes with SC, except ClF which forms only an ion-pair complex. Ion-...

Ion-mediated electron transfer in a supramolecular donor-acceptor ensemble.

Ion binding often mediates electron transfer in biological systems as a cofactor strategy, either as a promoter or as an inhibitor. However, it has rarely, if ever, been exploited for that purpose in synthetic host-guest assemblies. We report here that strong binding of specific anions (chloride, bromide, and methylsulfate but not tetrafluoroborate or hexafluorophosphate) to a tetrathiafulvalen...

Planar perovskite solar cells using fullerene C70 as electron selective transport layer

Owing amongst other to its high electron mobility, fullerene C70, has been widely used as an electron transporting layer in organic solar cells. In this research, we report the use of C70 thin films as electron transport layers of planar perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using a conventional device structure. The thickness of the C70 layer has been optimized to achieve the best efficiency of 12%. I...

Electron Donor-Electron Acceptor Interactions in Bimetallic Surfaces: Theory and XPS Studies

The electronic interactions in Pd/Mo( 1 IO), Pd/Ru(0001), and Cu/Mo( 110) have been examined by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The shifts in core-level binding energies indicate that adatoms in a monolayer of Cu or Pd are electronically perturbed with respect to surface atoms of Cu(100) or Pd(100). By comparison of these results with those previously presented in the literatur...
